Henna
Henna is a plant which naturally dyes the skin or hair. Favored by Cleopatra and Nefertiti, mentioned in the bible and the Talmud, henna has been used for thousands of years for beauty, for ceremony, and for it's healing and protective qualities.
Henna is applied in fine detail as a paste which later reveals a rich stain. The more layers of skin, the richer color you will get and the longer the stain will last. Hands and feet take henna the best and are traditional body parts for the artwork. Arms and legs work as well, faces and chests tend to get a much lighter and less reliable stain. Henna works best on clean, oil-free skin.
